A reflective decal is a weather-resistant and durable vinyl decal that reflects light and improves visibility in low-light conditions. When exposed to light (such as car headlights), the design becomes clearly visible in the dark. Reflective decals are not self luminescent. Its properties aren’t apparent in normal daylight conditions. It’s specifically designed to be visible at night when stricken with artificial light such as that from motor vehicle headlights.

The decal is precision cut from reflective vinyl according to your design and has no background. Once applied, the surface underneath becomes part of the design, resulting in a clean and professional appearance.

For an especially striking result, reflective decals can be combined with standard vinyl decals.

The selected size refers to the sheet size used for production. The final decal size must be specified when ordering and your design must fit within the selected dimensions.

The maximum continuous width of reflective vinyl is approximately 600 mm due to the roll format. There is no strict limit for length – larger designs can be produced in multiple sections.

Important

Reflective vinyl contains a special microstructure (glass beads or prisms) that reflects light back towards its source. This makes the decal highly visible when illuminated in the dark.

The material is more rigid than standard vinyl and does not stretch. It is not suitable for curved surfaces or full-surface wrapping. Best results are achieved on smooth, flat surfaces.

Reflective vs mirror vinyl

Reflective vinyl is designed to improve visibility in low-light conditions by reflecting light back towards its source. Mirror vinyl creates a shiny, mirror-like appearance but does not improve visibility in the dark.

Design and file requirements

We primarily need clear contours from your design. The colours used in the file are not important, as the decal is produced in a single colour.

We recommend using black and white designs, as they provide the best contrast for accurate cutting. Very light or low-contrast designs may not produce clean results.

Vector files (.PDF, .AI, .EPS, .SVG) provide the best results, but high-quality raster files (.JPG, .PNG) can also be used.
